Our Business Philosophy
Best Richardson African Diaspora Literature & Culture Museum and its associated business, BBRT, is a non profit Independent, Veteran and Woman-owned museum, bookstore and gift shop.  Our museum provides our customers, both youth and adult with educational artifacts and information on African Diaspora literary and cultural history.  Not only do we feature rare and antiquarian books written by writers of African Descent, we also provide exceptional used, rare and new books, high quality African Diaspora gift items, and reliable service to our customers. We hope you will enjoy visiting our location and web site as much as we enjoy providing reliable service to you locally and we ship worldwide for a nominal fee.

Our Employees

Employees play an important role in any business. We are a family of friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff.  We search far and wide to obtain the information you seek.  We attempt to bring our passion for African Diaspora literature and cultural exploration to you through our business and this website.

Our History
We first opened our bookstore, BBRT Associates LLC, in 1997 in Virginia Beach, VA.  Though we began as traveling vendors, we quickly opened a two-story storefront bookstore.  We then moved to the Virginia Beach Farmers Market and Antique Mall and since that time we have taken our business to four other cities and two different countries (Korea and Turkey) before re-opening in Tampa, FL. For many years we have brought our book business to military and civilian communities as a military family ourselves.  We are currently changing our focus to a historical venture featuring our books in a museum setting.  We are near MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, FL and are excited to, not only, serve the local military and civilian community, but also have our business on the web, where we are accessible to the world.
